The Daewoo Kalos is a subcompact car built by GM Daewoo, a South Korean subsidiary of General Motors. The Kalos name is used for the original version of this car sold in its home market, but there are also many other names under which versions of this vehicle are sold, which are listed below.
The Kalos is based on the "Daewoo Flex" concept previewed at Frankfurt Motor Show in 2001, and was styled by Giorgetto Giugiaro. Initial research and platform engineering work was carried out at Daewoo's (now disbanded) Worthing Technical Centre in the UK, with the bulk of the development programme being completed at Daewoo's main Technical Center at Bupyong in Korea.
